About the Artist

Biography

Hello, my name is Christine Marx and I am an artist based in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I began my art journey in 2009 when I relocated from California to Pennsylvania. I studied with Frank Arcuri learning how to paint alla prima oils in the style of the Dutch Masters. I fell in love with painting.  I studied for several years with Frank, and then started showing in galleries, first locally and then across the country in California. I opened a gallery in Lambertville, New Jersey, that I had for a few years and enjoyed running but it left me very little time to paint. I closed it and got back to painting full time in my studio.

 I was approached by Stone House Revival, a show on HGTV, about featuring my paintings on their show.  Contracts were signed, and my artwork was featured throughout 3 seasons of the show. That was a very exciting time for me and quite a lot of fun!  During this time I was also juried into Salon International at the Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, Texas as well as the Salmagundi Club in New York City. It is one of the oldest art organizations in the country and I am thrilled to be a member.

My husband and I moved to an 11 acre farm a few years ago and I continue to paint in my studio. In 2020 when the world shut down I started following artists online and taking some classes, and fell in love with all of the new ways to learn available online. I loved it so much that I started my youtube channel, so that I could share and teach my love of painting with thousands of  people around the world. Currently I am posting vlogs about painting, product reviews, and tutorials on YouTube and planning Urban Sketching adventures around the Northeast (and possibly Europe) for when the weather warms up. I am always learning and am enthusiastic about sharing all of the things I’ve learned over the years with fellow art lovers. 

I am in the process of converting an area of our barn into a place to hold workshops, for myself to teach, as well as artists from around the globe. We are looking at fall of 2025 to start this exciting new chapter! Please drop me an email if you are an instructor, or potential student and I will add you to our list to get updates.
